Double beds are also known as full-size beds. It was the standard mattress size for couples until the early 1900s. Afterwards, couples prefer at least a queen-size bed or, better yet, a king-size for maximum comfort.
Beds/mattresses are often available also in extra long 220 cm (87 in) length. When buying sheets, you have to be careful to purchase the right size. Flat sheets will fit both sizes of King Beds, but fitted sheets are cut to fit one or the other. Before you go shopping for sheets, be sure to measure your bed exactly to be sure to buy the linens that will fit exactly.
Pedestal beds are practical because they lift the bed up off the floor and often have storage underneath. This makes this bed frame perfect for smaller rooms because it won't to take up all the room in your space with wardrobes and a bed. Pedestal beds come in several heights, so the choice is up to you as to how tall you want your bed to sit. Often times these are also called captain's beds because they were designed for the bedroom of a ship which has considerably less room than an actual bedroom. These beds have drawers underneath so that storage is still possible.
What is so good about the queen bed is that it has just the right amount of space needed for two people. It also has enough space between each one so they can spread their arms and legs around with ease. If used by one person, the bed becomes very roomy and perfect if you want to relax your whole body after a tiring day.
