Panel beds are not very high and are quite close to the floor as they do not require a box spring to support the mattress. Most modern panel beds are available in a variety of materials and combination of materials and of course, their flamboyant designs. Some beds are available with heads and foot boards and some without. This is in keeping with their simple design. You can also create a canopy panel bed by attaching four large posts to the four corners of the bed to enable the handing of an ornate canopy or curtains. Extra storage is provided by the box under the mattress.
Pedestal beds are practical because they lift the bed up off the floor and often have storage underneath. This makes this bed frame perfect for smaller rooms because it won't to take up all the room in your space with wardrobes and a bed. Pedestal beds come in several heights, so the choice is up to you as to how tall you want your bed to sit. Often times these are also called captain's beds because they were designed for the bedroom of a ship which has considerably less room than an actual bedroom. These beds have drawers underneath so that storage is still possible.
